Join the RPS Band

Join the RPS Band – an exciting extra-curricular opportunity for students in Years 3 to 6! Under the expert guidance of our conductor Helen Crimmins and coordinated by the school, the RPS Band welcomes young musicians eager to learn and perform.

Choose from a variety of instruments that the school provides, including flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, drums, and more. Instrument hire makes it easy for your child to get started!

Each year, parents and carers of Year 2 students receive detailed information about joining the band program, including fees, instrument options, and hire arrangements—usually shared in Term 4. Interested families can then register their child’s preferences and get ready for an exciting musical journey.

The program features bands at different skill levels, with weekly rehearsals and in-school instrument lessons arranged to fit the school day. Students begin in the training band, typically starting rehearsals in Term 2, building confidence and skills from the ground up.

Our bands perform regularly, showcasing their talents at school assemblies and various community events — offering plenty of opportunities for students to shine!
