Building strong relationships for belonging and thriving

Relationships and wellbeing form the basis for teaching and learning at Rozelle.

With an explicit focus on building positive relationships and effective communication between staff and students, teachers ensure they work with students, applying high levels of both control and support.

Teachers use programs such as Bounce Back and Circle Solutions to help students develop the skills necessary to deal with difficult situations and negative emotions in order to develop healthy, resilient and happy students.

Inappropriate behaviour is used as an opportunity for insight and learning.

The Help Increase the Peace Program (HIP) keys build on the restorative practice foundation and promote communication, cooperation, trust building, conflict resolution, and resilience.

Our emphasis on social/emotional learning combined with a clear and explicit quality teaching framework, and rich curriculum content, creates a very powerful environment for engaged and effective learning and high levels of achievement.
