Grandparent’s Assembly is an annual event where we have an opportunity to show our appreciation and acknowledge the special place that grandparents hold in the lives of their grandchildren. We were so honoured to have so many grandparents and friends join us for a heartfelt and warm assembly prepared by our Year One students and staff.
Grandparents were entertained by the students’ po- etry and special memories of all the activities that they do together. We had performances from our school band, our stage 2 dance group, the Ukulele group and both the Year 2 and Year 1 students who sang beautifully.
The morning tea and classroom visits that followed
were also a huge success as the students so proudly
shared some of their personal achievements, art works and took some time to read stories with their grandparents. A particular thank you to those grandparents who travelled some distance to be here.
We were also very conscious that it wasn’t possible for all grandparents to be here and as always the children spent time with other grandparents.
I would like to acknowledge the Year One staff for their collaborative effort and Ms Horton for her leadership and organisation in preparing this special assembly.
